Almost any application can be run on any client with a web browser

  1. Seamless integration:

Easily integrated into existing hardware, software, and networks

(b)     Understanding Digital Independence

Almost any client device, network connection, network protocol

(c)     Identify the Benefits of MetaFrame Interoperability

1.    MF XP servers with the same farm name as MF1.8 servers send MF 1.8 servers application information, clients see it in Program Neighborhood as the same application set

2.    MF XP browser service shares information with MF 1.8 in same subnet

3.    plications can be load balanced across MF XP and MF 1.8 servers with the same farm name

  1. Licenses can be migrated to MF XP severs
  2. License pooling is available between MF XP and MF 1.8 on the same subnet

  3. Microsoft Terminal Service’s license, TS in application mode
  4. Netbios or IPX/SPX or TCP/IP
  5. If using NFUSE, IIS 4.0 or higher and Java Virtual Machine(JVM)
  6. If using Netware Client it should be installed prior to MF XP.
  7. Decide to use either default Access, or Oracle(7.3.4, 8.0.6, or 8i), or SQL(Server 7 SP2, SQL2000)
  8. Hard disk space requirements are 75MB for MF XP files and documentation, 200MB for ICA Client software, 10MB for SNMP agent for HP Openview or Tivoli Netview, 20MB for Nfuse, 64MB for the IMA service and other MF XP services, 1.7MB for each idle session(2 by defaut)
